I'm not performing this, but my spouse is: Angela Gosse will perform a program of Trumpet Solos from the Italian Baroque & Renaissance. It's a "lunchtime recital" at The Church of the Transfiguration, also known as The Little Church Around the Corner. Angela is collaborating with Claudia Dumschat at the organ (the organ is known as "The Mighty Fisk" - this place has a nickname for everything!) The church is at One East 29th Street, NYC, between Madison & Fifth Avenue. View the concert series postcard ad here, or you can view the church website here.

Friday June 22, 2007 and Sunday June 24, 2007 One World Symphony - A concert performance of Richard Strauss' stunning opera, "Salome." Click here for more details. Friday May 25, 2007 - 6:30 pm
Symphony No. 2 "The Resurrection," by Gustav Mahler - one of the most moving experiences a symphony orchestra can create for an audience, presented at the United Nations!! I'll be performing with the AAC Orchestra, and we're playing one of the greatest pieces in the symphonic repertoire. Our recent concert at the Rose Theater was a great success, and this promises to be a truly remarkable event. Sunday May 20, 2007 - 4pm
This is yet another in my long series of performances (over ten years!) with the talented conductor, Martin Rutishauser. We have presented many of the great choral works of the baroque, classical, early romantic, and modern periods. This concert features the music of J.S. Bach (including Cantata 172), and will take place at Christ & St. Stephen's church, located near Lincoln Center at 120 W 69th Street between Broadway and Columbus. For ticket information and more about the program, please check back here as the date draws closer, or check the church's website by clicking here. Saturday May 12, 2007 - 9pm
A very rare appearance: I'll be playing in the funk-pop band "Subway Darwins" at The Bitter End on Bleecker Street (between Thompson & LaGuardia). This band hasn't performed together since 2001, so this is a major reunion event! Led by the talented Mike Loss, the group will include about 10 of its former members, playing all the old favorites that Mike wrote for us back in the '90s. We've got real virtuosos everywhere on the stage - vocalists, guitar, rhythm section and horns. Mike's getting married this spring, and we thought this would be a great way to celebrate. Whether you come for the party or the music, you won't be disappointed! (ear plugs recommended - The Bitter End is an "intimate" space, and we're a pretty loud band). Sunday March 11, 2007 - 5pm One World Symphony - At Town Hall! Music from the movies, including Star Wars (New York Premiere of music from Episode I The Phantom Menace), Disney's Fantasia 2000 (Stravinsky's Firebird), Hitchcock films and some movie musicals, too. Town Hall is on West 43rd Street, near 6th Avenue. Check the orchestra's website here. Wednesday January 24, 2007 - 8pm
AAC Orchestra - at Jazz at Lincoln Center! An orchestra program of J. Strauss, Grieg, and Dvorak, at the Rose Theater at Lincoln Center. Let me know if you'd like to go, and I'll try to get comp tickets. Saturday & Sunday December 2 & 3, 2006
The Arcadia Brass Octet with Martin Rutishauser and the Taghanic Chorale - "a holiday in Venice." Saturday evening at 8pm in Valhalla, NY and Sunday at 4pm in Ossining. I'll try to get clearer location details as the dates get nearer. Friday November 17, 2006 8pm
Vivaldi Concerto for 2 Trumpets! Angela & I are the soloists for this chamber orchestra concert at The West End Collegiate Church. There are also some choral pieces filling out the program. West End Avenue at 77th Street, Manhattan. Friday November 10, 2006 8pm
Great choral selections with orchestra! Handel's Coronation Anthem "Zadok the Priest," "Let Thy Right Hand," and Schubert's Magnificat. At Christ & St. Stephen's Church 120 W. 69th Street, Manhattan. |
