Friday November 16, 2007 - 8pm
Sunday November 18, 2007 - 4pm

I'll be playing with One World Symphony. Conducted by Sung Jin Hong, One World Symphony has been dubbed "New York's Hippest Orchestra" by the critics. It's our season opener, an innovative program called "Uptown vs. Downtown" - Music by Puccini, Larson, Ives, Cage, Carter, Reich, Corigliano, and a world premiere by Jihwan Kim. I'll be playing principal trumpet for this concert, and will have the solo in Ives' Unanswered Question. The maestro is full of surprises, and these concerts are always a lot of fun for musicians & audience alike. Friday November 16th is 8pm in Brooklyn Heights (St. Ann & The Holy Trinity Church - corner of Montague & Clinton Streets). There is a 2nd performance on Sunday Nov. 18th at 4pm on the Upper West Side (Ansche Chesed Synagogue - corner of W. 100 Street & West End Avenue). For tickets & more details, check the orchestra's website here.

I'm not performing this, but my spouse is: Angela Gosse will perform a program of Trumpet Solos from the Italian Baroque & Renaissance. It's a "lunchtime recital" at The Church of the Transfiguration, also known as The Little Church Around the Corner. Angela is collaborating with Claudia Dumschat at the organ (the organ is known as "The Mighty Fisk" - this place has a nickname for everything!) The church is at One East 29th Street, NYC, between Madison & Fifth Avenue. View the concert series postcard ad here, or you can view the church website here.

Symphony No. 2 "The Resurrection," by Gustav Mahler - one of the most moving experiences a symphony orchestra can create for an audience, presented at the United Nations!! I'll be performing with the AAC Orchestra, and we're playing one of the greatest pieces in the symphonic repertoire. Our recent concert at the Rose Theater was a great success, and this promises to be a truly remarkable event.

Sunday May 20, 2007 - 4pm
This is yet another in my long series of performances (over ten years!) with the talented conductor, Martin Rutishauser. We have presented many of the great choral works of the baroque, classical, early romantic, and modern periods. This concert features the music of J.S. Bach (including Cantata 172), and will take place at Christ & St. Stephen's church, located near Lincoln Center at 120 W 69th Street between Broadway and Columbus. For ticket information and more about the program, please check back here as the date draws closer, or check the church's website by clicking here.

The Bitter End

Saturday May 12, 2007 - 9pm

A very rare appearance: I'll be playing in the funk-pop band "Subway Darwins" at The Bitter End on Bleecker Street (between Thompson & LaGuardia). This band hasn't performed together since 2001, so this is a major reunion event! Led by the talented Mike Loss, the group will include about 10 of its former members, playing all the old favorites that Mike wrote for us back in the '90s. We've got real virtuosos everywhere on the stage - vocalists, guitar, rhythm section and horns. Mike's getting married this spring, and we thought this would be a great way to celebrate. Whether you come for the party or the music, you won't be disappointed! (ear plugs recommended - The Bitter End is an "intimate" space, and we're a pretty loud band).
