Symphony No. 2 "The Resurrection," by Gustav Mahler - one of the most moving experiences a symphony orchestra can create for an audience, presented at the United Nations!! I'll be performing with the AAC Orchestra, and we're playing one of the greatest pieces in the symphonic repertoire. Our recent concert at the Rose Theater was a great success, and this promises to be a truly remarkable event.

This is yet another in my long series of performances (over ten years!) with the talented conductor, Martin Rutishauser. We have presented many of the great choral works of the baroque, classical, early romantic, and modern periods. This concert features the music of J.S. Bach (including Cantata 172), and will take place at Christ & St. Stephen's church, located near Lincoln Center at 120 W 69th Street between Broadway and Columbus. For ticket information and more about the program, please check back here as the date draws closer, or check the church's website by clicking here. Saturday May 19, 2007 - 7:30pm
Allegro Brass Ensemble - Our annual Memorial Day Concert (a week early, to get your summer started) at the Algonquin Arts Center in the beautiful seaside town of Manasquan, New Jersey. Featuring the Allegro Chorus. Come hear the concert works of a great brass ensemble, and sing along on the chorus' traditional patriotic songs, presented in innovative and majestic arrangements. Saturday May 12, 2007 - 9pm
A very rare appearance: I'll be playing in the funk-pop band "Subway Darwins" at The Bitter End on Bleecker Street (between Thompson & LaGuardia). This band hasn't performed together since 2001, so this is a major reunion event! Led by the talented Mike Loss, the group will include about 10 of its former members, playing all the old favorites that Mike wrote for us back in the '90s. We've got real virtuosos everywhere on the stage - vocalists, guitar, rhythm section and horns. Mike's getting married this spring, and we thought this would be a great way to celebrate. Whether you come for the party or the music, you won't be disappointed! (ear plugs recommended - The Bitter End is an "intimate" space, and we're a pretty loud band). |
